Adhesive Wall Hook – Installation Guide

What’s Included

Your wall hook consists of three parts:

  • Wooden hook with threaded insert

  • Clear adhesive wall mount with moulded screw

  • Nylon spacer washer (creates clearance for the Magic Canvas rope and allows fine alignment)

Before You Start

  • Choose a clean, dry, smooth surface

  • Ideal room temperature: 10–30 °C

  • Do not install on freshly painted walls (wait at least 14 days)

Installation Steps

Step 1 – Pre-assemble the hook

Screw the wooden hook onto the clear adhesive mount by hand, with the nylon washer between them.
Tighten firmly, but do not overtighten or bend the plastic mount.

Step 2 – Peel the adhesive backing

Once fully assembled, carefully peel off the protective film from the adhesive pad without touching the adhesive surface.

Step 3 – Position and apply

Press the assembled hook firmly onto the wall in the desired position.
Apply even pressure across the entire hook for 10–15 seconds.

Step 4 – Remove the wooden hook

Unscrew and remove the wooden hook, leaving only the adhesive mount and washer attached to the wall.

Step 5 – Set the adhesive

Using your finger, press firmly around the entire clear mount, pushing it flat against the wall.
This helps the adhesive fully bond to the surface and removes any air pockets.

Step 6 – Reattach and align

Screw the wooden hook back on by hand until snug.
Use the small amount of tolerance provided by the washer to align the hook straight without loosening it.

Step 7 – Allow adhesive to cure

For best results, wait at least 1 hour before hanging your Magic Canvas.
Maximum bond strength is achieved after 12–24 hours.

Suitable Surfaces

Designed for smooth, non-porous surfaces, including:

  • Painted plasterboard (well-cured paint)

  • Sealed timber

  • Glass and mirrors

  • Tiles (glazed)

  • Metal surfaces

  • Laminates and cabinetry

  • Lightly textured wall surfaces

Not intended or recommended for us on:

  • Rough or heavily textured walls

  • Brick, concrete, or stone

  • Wallpaper or vinyl wall coverings

  • Unsealed or raw timber

  • Flaking, damaged, or recently painted surfaces

Removal & Repositioning

  • Adhesive mounts are intended to be single-use and are not designed to be reapplied.

  • It may be possible to remove the adhesive hook without damaging paint or wall surfaces, however this cannot be guaranteed.

For the best chance of clean removal:

  1. Remove the wooden hook by unscrewing it, leaving only the clear adhesive mount on the wall.

  2. Use a hair dryer on a warm (not hot) setting to gently heat the adhesive mount for 30–60 seconds.
Heating softens the adhesive and may reduce the risk of paint lift.

  3. Starting at one edge, slowly and carefully peel the mount away from the wall, keeping it close to the surface as you go.

  4. Do not twist or pull straight outward, as this significantly increases the chance of paint or surface damage.

Important considerations:

  • Removal effectiveness varies depending on:

    • Paint type and quality

    • Age and cure time of the paint

    • Wall material and surface preparation

    • Older paint, weaker paint adhesion, or softer wall finishes are more likely to be damaged during removal.
